Regulations regarding quarterly statistics for some securities companies

Summary

Finansinspektionen is responsible for the official statistics concerning the financial market.

The regulations dictate how some securities companies and branches of foreign securities companies shall report information to FI that is of significant for these statistics.

Statistics Sweden has FI's assignment to produce parts of the financial statistics. Statistics Sweden is the authority that receives the data that must be reported in accordance with this regulation.

Undertakings subject to the regulations are securities companies and branches of foreign securities companies that trade in financial instruments on their own account but do not have authorization to receive funds on account or grant credit.

Amendments to the basic regulation

According to the amendments, mutual benefit societies have been removed from Appendix 2.

The amendments go into effect on 1 November 2020. Amendment 2020:19

Finansinspektionen has amended regulation FFFS 2010:1 due to new statistical requirement from the EU.

A new version of ESA 2010 (European System of Accounts 2010) was published in 2014. The new statistics requirements impact the obligation to report quarterly data for some Swedish securities companies and branches of foreign securities companies. The requirements introduce primarily new sector divisions. The amendments relate to the reporting forms and the instructions for these forms.

The amendment regulation enters into force on 1 March 2015. Amendment 2015:2
