Nordea Bank AB (Nordea) has filed an application with Finansinspektionen to merge its wholly owned subsidiaries of Nordea Bank Norge ASA, Nordea Bank Finland Plc and Nordea Bank Denmark A / S with Nordea.
The activities currently carried out in the Nordic subsidiary banks are to be conducted primarily through branches in each country rather than in the current subsidiaries. Certain activity shall continue to be conducted through subsidiaries in each country (mortgage loans).
Finansinspektionen will include examining that the banks creditors are ensured an adequate safety. Finansinspektionen will also examine the application on the basis of public interest.
Finansinspektionen intends to reach a decision regarding the permission to merge before the summer in 2016.
