Insurance-based pensions saving

2007-05-10 | Reports Consumer Insurance

The insurance market for Swedish consumers has changed a lot over the lastcouple of decades. The range of insurance forms has decreased while forms ofasset management have multiplied. The view of how risk should be sharedbetween companies and policyholders has changed. Policyholders are nowexpected to bear an every greater portion of financial risk.

This report is based on information obtained from the market in the middle of 2006, but has been supplemented with information on the various capital guarantee products introduced between then and 1 February 2007.

This report is aimed at those who want a background against which to analyse and compare insurance-based pensions saving without having to go too deeply into technical detail. This could be especially valuable as a supplement to other comparative material, e.g. from the Swedish Consumers Insurance Bureau. The report can also be used as support material for those working as financial advisors.
