FI decided on 29 March 2017 not to change the countercyclical buffer rate. The buffer rate of two per cent, which has applied since 19 March 2017, shall thus continue to apply. The countercyclical buffer guide is set at 0 per cent.
FI has amended the decision-making procedure for some of the decisions related to the countercyclical buffer rate. A decision that entails no change in the buffer rate and the focus decision as a rule will be made by the Director General. A decision that entails a change in the buffer rate and thus requires amending the regulation will continue to be decided by the Board of Directors.
