Finansinspektionen’s (FI) Director General Daniel Barr joined the Board of Supervisors of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) in July 2023.
EIOPA was founded in 2011 to promote stability and consumer protection within the insurance and pension sectors in Europe. The authority makes decisions related to harmonised rules, among other things, and provides advice and recommendations to the European Commission related to insurance and pensions.
Daniel Barr joined EIOPA's Board of Supervisors in July 2023. Åsa Larson, the executive director of the Insurance section at FI, will continue to represent the authority on the Board of Supervisors as an alternate.
