Director General

Johan Almenberg has been FI’s director general since 1 December 2025.

He is an associate professor in economics and has a long and extensive background in matters relating to the financial markets. He has held positions at Sveriges Riksbank, the National Institute of Economic Research, and Finansinspektionen. Most recently he served as a state secretary at the Swedish Ministry of Finance.
