FI’s Director General Erik Thedéen was reappointed to the Management Board of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) for a further 2½ year term.
ESMA is an EU authority that works in part to design the supervision of securities companies and markets with operations in several countries, foster supervisory convergence with regard to EU regulations among supervisory authorities in different countries and enhance cross-border cooperation between supervisory authorities.
The Management Board is one of ESMA's leading bodies, and its primary task is to manage the authority's work and decide on the budget and personnel resources.
