Finansinspektionen is the competent authority according to Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 on OTC derivatives, central counterparties and trade repositories (EMIR). This means that FI assesses the applications, registrations and notifications that can or must be submitted according to the regulation. As the competent authority, FI must also conduct supervision of central counterparties.

Central securities depository (settlement and account entry)

Finansinspektionen is the competent authority according to Regulation (EU) No 909/2014 on improving securities settlement in the European Union and on central securities depositories (CSDR). This means that FI assesses the applications, registrations and notifications that can or must be submitted according to the regulation. As the competent authority, FI must also conduct supervision of central securities depositories.

Anoto Group receives a caution and an administrative fine

Finansinspektionen has decided to issue Anoto Group a caution and an administrative fine of SEK 900,000 for violations of the rules governing the preparation of annual and consolidated accounts.

How FI reviews money laundering risks in the financial sector in 2025

There is a high risk that the financial system is used by criminals to launder money and commit other crimes. In 2025, the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) will prioritize its review to sectors and services where the risks of money laundering are elevated.

Notification by foreign UCITS regarding marketing of units in the undertaking in Sweden

A foreign UCITS which is domiciled within the EEA and has such authorisation in its home state as set out in 2009/65/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 on the coordination of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) may market units in the undertaking here in Sweden without special authorisation.

Direct contributions to reserves from shareholders as CET1 capital

European Banking Authority (EBA) has clarified which conditions direct contributions to reserves from shareholders should meet in order to form part of firms’ Common Equity Tier 1 capital (CET1 capital) according to the rules laid down in the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR). According to the CRR a contribution may be classified as CET1 capital if the contribution satisfies certain conditions.
